Zelve is one of the most fantadtic sites in Capadocia: A natural amphitheater at the junction of four converging ravines with a dense concentration of dwellings hollowed out of rock. In the 9th and 13th centuries A.D. Zelve was an important settlement and a center of monastic life it was here the first theological thoughts spread among the monks in the area. The ruins at Zelve are spread over three valleys, which also house several pointed fairy chimneys with large stems.
