Lone Pine Cemetary & Memorial are built directly over the trenches. The cemetery stands on the plateau, over the original Turkish tunnels. On the Lone Pine Memorial there are 4934 Australian and New Zealander soldiers names who fell on the Peninsula or in Gallipoli waters and whose graves are not known. A lone pine grows in the cemetery.
