Çanakkale Martyrs Memorial is the main Turkish memorial at Gallipoli. The statue is based on a photograph of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, then Lieutenant-Colonel Mustafa Kemal, looking out over the battlefield from a trench at Anzac in 1915.
