Göreme is an internationally popular region which is best known for its natural rock formations called fairy chimneys. On the 6th of December 1985, Göreme National Park and the rock sites of Cappadocia were recognised by Unesco as one of the world's spectacular natural and cultural site and added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The first period of settlement goes back to Roman period of Christianity era. Göreme is sorrounded with valleys and take place in Nevşehir, Ürgüp, Avanos triangle.
