Ani is the ruins of the capital of medieval Armenia. It take place near to the Arpaçay River (a branch of Aras River). Arpaçay river constitutes the border between Armenia and Turkey. It takes its name from ancient Urartian fertility goddess Anahid. City collapsed by an earthquake in 1319.
